Meant to include a link to the KAIST homepage... Also they created synthetic skin for robots this week with a 1mm spacial resoltuion, which is the highest to date....

I think if a "robot" told me to "Halt citizen. You are under arrest!" I would laugh my @$$ off and keep walking... until it shot me with it's phazer set on "stun" I guess.
These people watch too much anime.

Yawn. Wake me up after the robots run amok and are replaced by law enforcement cyborgs built from recently-deceased police officers.

Reminiscent of a previous thread. Thing I loved best about that thread was learning that robot police (original mov file) have much the same things on their minds as actual human police officers might.

Note to self: when using DOS scrolls to mimic systems monitors, avoid directories containing pr0n.

They will take the shape of a dog or a horse, with six or eight legs or wheels.

Good to have a plan...

sourwookie, If you look at the engadget links they already have some bipedal robots, but if the police want them more as security patrols, it might make more sense to have them mounted on a vehicle, similar to these.
