Tin foil hats no longer required! Apparently mobile phone use *doesn't* cause cancer. We'd like to thank the MMF and the GSMA for funding this study along with the EU. I'll still not get one though...

Wow... another study about cell phones and brain cancer. Whoopdy doo. As for the FBI tracking users link, I don't really care. The FBI can track me all they want. They'll be kinda bored though. FBI Agent #1: "Dude, doesn't this guy ever DO anything? So far today he's made one call to his girlfriend, and one call to order a pizza" FBI Agent #2: "He hasn't called his mother in weeks! The jury is still out on this. It is generally agreed that non-ionizing radiation from mobile phones does not cause cancer in by means of cell disruption. It is also generally agreed that the thermal effects resulting from absorbtion of the radio waves in the brain are insignificant. The brain is loaded with blood vessels that dissipate any localized heating very quickly. What remains in question is the effect of radio waves on the blood brain barrier . A study conducted in Sweden in 1999 suggested that exposure to mobile phone radiation causes some dialation of the membrane allowing large molecules to pass through. What the impact of this is in relation to cancer is completely unknown. Certainly the mobile phone industry wants to make this a "nothing to see, move on" issue, but with nearly 1b mobile phone users we would be wise to remain skeptical.

There's a plan. While giving people chemo for cerebral tumours, make them talk on a cell phone.. hoping that will help get the drug past that barrier.

What remains in question is the effect of radio waves on the blood brain barrier . What the impact of this is in relation to cancer is completely unknown. The impact on the pharmaceutical industry would easily offset any financial losses from the cell phone industry, were that true, as that is the kind of discovery that could lead to improved drug delivery mechanisms. It seems pretty obvious there is no connection. There are what - 1.5 BILLION cell phones in use? And people have been using them for 20 years now. Do we have a sudden and dramatic BILLION FOLD increase in brain cancer? No. No link. End of story.

People have not been using 1.5 billion cell phones for 20 years. I do not like your scientific method.
