While I can easily imagine someone at Disney or Pixar thinking this is a good idea, it's really a pretty bad idea for everyone concered. Except Jobs. It's great for Jobs. Gives him what he craves: Attention.

... and $3.5 billion dollars. And a seat on the board, with arguably the ability to step in and run the entire company if he felt inclined to do so. The shareholders would almost certainly approve.

I'd say he's worth it, he can turn a silly little hard drive and pretty UI into a major windfall for Apple.
I heard that when he poops, they're golden iPod Nanos with the best selling songs on iTunes preloaded!

my dupe comment -- poorly edited as it is.
Disney needs a new Animation team. Pixar is the best Animation team out there. It fits.
Jobs does not make 3.5billion. Jobs is converting his existing 3.5b Pixar into 3.5b Disney. I think this has been misrepresented. He would take his 50.1% of Pixar end up with 7% or so of Disney.
