Tagebach in Bildern this very unboastful website provides a wonderful detailed view on everydays observations. Nothing spectacular you could say, but with a huge knowledge of species (zoological and botanical) she introduces us into the small but remarkable miracles of nature which surround us everywhere. This little website teaches us to train our more precise look onto nature! .

What a treasure this site is, hortense - some of the rollovers are exquisite. This is one of those finds that - when you chance upon it - is a reminder of how great the Web can be. Thanks for such a nice post.

"Tagebuch in Bildern" = daily book in pictures.
A Tagebuch is a diary or journal.. A bach is a composer.

although a daily composer would be extra cool

A bach is a composer.

No, "a" Bach is a stream. "Bach" is the composer ;) </know-it-all>

Good find(s), hortense!

Spectacular thanks hortense!!

That barkbook seems like an obsessive (yet organically beautiful) psychiatric patient diary or the like - what does the german handwriting say?

Oh ok, I'll take the guy's (english) word for it that it was his little Siberian project. 4 months in Siberia will do that to you. Shame about those giant copyright symbols.

carsonb, aren't those fireflies? (like a crowd of them)
posted by amberglow at 11:05 AM on January 29, 2006

I don't know. I've never seen fireflies before.

I do know that that's the first time I've clicked on every single link in any post with a comparable amount of hypertext. Thank you very much for this link.

I am surprised that my botanical selflink went unnoticed

Care to elaborate hortense? I've just spent all of 3.2930301 minutes looking and I don't quite get it.

Haaa! OK I get it. Good selflinking is to be encouraged.
