I bet it's the same director. I looked at that Chris Cairns site, then I realized that it's the same guy who did LCD Soundsystem's Michel Gondry-inspired "Daft Punk" video. Then I realized he works for Gondry's company, Partizan. Then I realized I need to get a life.

Heh, yes, fungible, I get that feeling too, every once in a while. It's ok! you're not alone! help is on the way! no it isn't. sorry. I figured it'd be the same director. After all it was too cool a trick to waste on a ten second E4 ident. Why are they called "idents"?

Short for "Station Identification". Usually a requirement in most countries for broadcasters to identify themselves regularly on their specified channel/spectrum. In the US, it is once per hour. That's why at the top of every hour you hear radio stations have a zingy little ID with the call letters, frequency, and transmitter location. "WSM-AM 650 Nashville"
