We are twenty-seven years into the post-Sid Vicious era.

This post was deleted for the following reason: four paragraphs about someone doesn't really make for a good post

And we're better off without him. Who needs a musician that can't play? It would have been more honest for him to put "junkie" on his tax returns.

...and things have been steadily declining since.

Also, Malcolm McLaren influenced the hell out of the early Rap scene, too... interesting juxtaposition.

Yes, and we're also now at Year 124 J.E. (Joycean Era).

Okay, I am as much against people being the post police as anyone (especially because my posts are fairly crappy), but are we just going to ignore the fact that this is a single link to less information than there is in Sid Vicious's wikipedia entry? I mean to each his own and all, but...

I thought the shitty post was a subtle reference to the fact that the subject of the post was a shitty entertainer and a shitty human being.

I wish he had lived (and not killed his girlfriend) so he could be further debasing himself on a reality show for former celebrities.

Tax returns, mayor curley? Yeah, you really know about rock and roll.

Anyway, for everybody else, if you haven't watched The Filth and the Fury, you need to watch it. It's the best piece about the rise and fall of the SP's.

For what it's worth, I used to know somebody that lived in the Chelsea Hotel at the same time as Sid and Nancy, and her claim was that Sid's dealer stabbed Nancy and let Sid take the blame because he was so messed up, and that the dealer was responsible for the overdose as well.

Take that with a grain of salt, but still...

RIP Sid.

This is a crap FPP.

That said, Mayor Curley, should us crazy kids get off of your lawn now?

No, he's still alive.

I just saw Sid Vicious playing (the future) Commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins last night.
