Track your comments. Remember back before Matt gave up his day job? How we didn't have an easy way to keep up with conversations we participated in? Hate that you can't do that with other sites you frequent? Now you can.

By the way, I've tried incorporating cocomment into mefi comment forms, but to no avail. The developers published a short javascript how-to, but I couldn't for the life of me get it to work. But hopefully in the next few weeks we'll figure it out and make it work here. I've always wanted a way to track distributed comments. Cocomment looks like it.

I can't get the damn thing to work with IE6, though it works fine with my Firefox. It's basically dragging the icon to the bookmarks (at least, from what I understand), so I don't think I am doing anything wrong. Anyone else have similar problems?

Hasn't worked for me, once, yet, at any of the sites I visit. On MT sites, for example, it always (for me) redirects to the mt-comments.cgi file for some reason, which I can't see being the intended behaviour. Like Matt, I've always wanted this. I look forward to it actually working for me sometime.

This is JUST what I've been looking for. I constantly find I'm leaving comments on blogs, and then just ditching out on them. It would be really cool to keep track of follow-ups. Seems to work on the few Wordpress blogs I tried just now. Yay!

So who ripped off who? They seem identical. And I also have not been able to get coComment to actually work. The bookmarklet doesn't do anything. So I still just use delicious to track my comments. At least it's reliable.

another way to do this is to tag everything in del.icio.us with a tag like 'mycomments' or somthing. then you've got all yer comments RSSed and everything.

I was pretty excited by coComment, but it has a huge flaw: it only picks up on comments made by other coComment users in a given discussion. So it makes keeping track of where you've left a comment easy, but it doesn't really help when it comes to following along with a comment thread. It looks like co.mment might do it right, though - in which case, hallelujah!

Arse - co.mment doesn't work with MetaFilter either (at least not for me, I get a 'Sorry, but I can't read comments from this page' error).
