It's a sign of the times. Wired News now has the Lycos Network navigation at the top of each of the news pages. Can HotLycos be far behind?

Why god, why? I'd love to see the clickthrough stats on that annoying black bar. Didn't they do user testing to measure the slight utility vs. the annoying loss of screen real estate?

This must be why the tried to drop http://wired.lycos.com/news on the site a few weeks ago...

Any new rumors on the sale of Wired Digital? I think I read a story recently about Wired Digital being brought back to Wired (the magazine).

It's a lot better than the Go Network crap that they put on all the Disney/ABC sites. When they first put it up there, it took up about half of the 640x480 screen. Talk about stupid.
