That was fun! (Except for the first minute.)

I liked the second guy best, and then the guy toward the end who was doing the gymnastic floor exercise style handspins who landed in his hat!

Seriously, if the rhythmic gymnastic floor dance ribbon twirly thing can be olympic sport, why not this?

That's just crazy... those Koreans are pretty capable break dancers. And they make a good computer monitor too, God bless them.

What gets me is the caption on the google video site.

This shit is honestly intense.

Well OK, if you say so.

Because it would utterly kill the dynamic spirit of it.

Almost every competitive routine would end up following the same basic template, with certain "must-do" techniques that are best executed in a certain order so as to maximize points with the judges. It would become as mind-numbingly boring as figure skating.

Some things are best left out of the Olympics. It's not like the "Olympic seal of approval" is all that important, anyway.

LordSludge and triv, thanks for those clips - I could watch that guy forever. Or the dancers in this fabulous late at night clip (quicktime), previously posted on mefi by planetkyoto.

This breakdown clip by Kollaboration is also fun - too bad it isn't shot a little closer.

They don't need to put this in the Olympics: if you watch mens gymnastics, they do half these moves anyway on the vault. (ok, no spinning on their head there, but still).

I live in seoul, and I have to say I've definitely seen the best breaking of my life here. Bboying is getting real big, and the kids' skills freak me out every time.
