Reading the short description when I opened the page, I didn't think I would it find it all that funny. For better or worse, I ended laughing myself to tears just like the commenter. I can't explain it, it just struck some kind of deep-rooted humor chord.

The screams are comical, like something from a comical action film, or the 3 Stooges. This would have been much better if there had been clueless people suddenly exposed to the screaming box, streaking past. Maybe it happens latter. It seems to me that it's not a walkman on a line, but rather a microphone on a line, magnifying the noise of the vibrations caused by the pulley rolling along it. This would be why the noise stops when it's not moving. If in fact that's the case, it's kind of eerie how much it sounds like a human voice.

I found it amusing in so far as they obviously spent a lot of time playing with a silly idea. Then I got bored. There's really only so much that a screaming zipping walkmen can do to hold my attention.
