The Incredible Aine Chambers has a website. Chock full of everything you need to know should you visit County Sligo, Ireland. Some are comparing her to Mahir - some folks commenting are taking the piss. But the fact is there is more energy and vitality in Aine's site than 100 blogs. Oh, and she's got video as well.

Dude. Genuinely stacked red-haired Irish girl (with face #5 there are only 8 Irish faces, you know) with an 80s wylde chylde haircut and more enthusiasm than web design skills? That's the girl I was pretty sure I was going to marry (when I was 8). My head cringes in horror, but every single one of my Guinness -soaked mick genes say YES. Truly the best of the web.

Nothing like Mahir. Her website actually has useful information and lots of photos of what appears to be a nice part of Ireland. But this being the internet, a bunch of shallow individuals are going to focus on the bikini photo and completely ignore the rest of the site. Oh well. Their loss. I've always wanted to visit Ireland. Sligo looks like a decent place.

I think she was charming. And I agree with the energy and vitality comment--as amateurish as it is it's a welcome contrast to the too--cool/hipster/I'm tired of everything that seems to be the lingua franca of the web. I am going to Sligo, dammit. I am. And I will look her up when I am there.

Heh, I don't know if it's a well-known thing, but the 8 Irish faces (4 for men, 4 for women) is just something my Irish (& Irish-American / Irish-Canadian) friends like to joke about. It's a terribly inbred island, you know. I'm a #7, myself. There's just something slightly odd about being able to instantly pick out a particular strain of Euro based on their facial features. Ms Chambers has that round, soft jaw and twinkling eyes that make for a #5. I've got the gigantic potato nose and pursed mouth over a prominent chin that make for (a decidedly black irish) #7. Then there's the blue-eyed red-haired freckly #8, the OMG SO HOT high cheekboned #4 . . . *cough* Anyway, yes. Modern Ireland has quite a lot of ethnic diversity. But the diaspora of the genotype over the past 175 years has lead to a fairly recognizable set of unrelated-but-very-Irish patterns that make for amusing bar conversation.

The fact that she went out there with her sister and made all these videos and spent time to promote her home town and the surrounding area is the thing, (not that she is above using sex to sell Sligo - see picture creevyk9c.jpg from the link above).

If there ever were "eight Irish faces" it's fairly meaningless in 2006. Nice find jettloe, and keep up the good work on your own site, I think it's great.
