"I've been declared dead by better coroners than you!" Just when I'm about to once again lose faith, this happens. Jay Sherman is back. Jon Lovitz's lovingly annoying show The Critic has been canned by three (count'em) THREE major networks. Now, it's the Internet's turn! May the fourth time be the charm for this guy. All balding, fat men with big mouths and ex-wives rejoice! We've got a reprieve!

Sweet! TiVo catches every episode of The Critic for me, but the possibility of seeing new episodes is great news. How many will macromedia fund?

Yay! Even this pared down version is great. I never understood why The Critic didn't take off in the way it should have done. Was there wrangling behind the scenes?

I watched the show somewhat religeously on Comedy Central before they cut it. I emailed Macromedia (on their feedback page) thanking them for putting the show up on their site. Hopefully positive feedback will keep the shows coming.

Oh, man...that just made my day. The show seemed like such a perfect compliment to "The Simpsons" when FOX picked it up. Why they don't give Matt Groening and Mike Reiss complete control over their comedy lineup, I'll never know.

But, then again, I'm also thinking about the network that brought us "When The World's Greatest Millionaire Weddings Attack And Get Chased By The Police."

I don't think that Groening was involved in the Critic. I think the "people behind The Simpson's" means James L. Brooks.

Either way, happy to have it back.

Ah, true, but Mike Reiss has his hands in both "The Simpsons" and "The Critic." Obviously, his brilliance, coupled with that of Groening, could bring about a truly splendiforous era of comedy on FOX. "The Critic," "Futurama," and "The Simpsons" all running non-stop. With guest shots from Seven Of Nine, of course...

Kill me now. Please.
