I was expecting video with costumes and dancing girls and jazz hands. Bah. posted by cillit bang at 9:20 AM on March 6, 2006
Hey! Awesome! God I hope the server doesn't melt.
cillit bang: there has been a terrible jazz-hands shortage lately which has delayed the launch of the dancing-girls routines. My apologies. posted by cortex at 9:28 AM on March 6, 2006
and so of course I have to go to a meeting. posted by cortex at 9:29 AM on March 6, 2006
This just makes me miss Ambrosia Sings the News that Air America Radio used to do. posted by Space Coyote at 9:29 AM on March 6, 2006
Brilliant! I can't imagine how much time this must suck up. I bet if I didn't spend so much time reading Metafilter, I might be able to come up with something as tenth as cool. posted by ewagoner at 10:27 AM on March 6, 2006
cute, but different stories should be in different styles of music...like metal for the South Dakota story, and bhangra or Bollywood for Bush's trip... posted by amberglow at 10:52 AM on March 6, 2006
ewagoner: so far it's been about 3-5 hours of work per issue, depending mostly on the song -- the rest of the content goes pretty quickly.
amberglow: I might get more directly thematic as time passes, but right now I've been just sort of madly getting my legs and trying different things in general. Once I stop discovering new miniature workflow catastrophes every single issue, I'll have a little more room to stretch my legs, as it were. posted by cortex at 11:02 AM on March 6, 2006

Yes, but drunken hookers prefer to hear their news from The Aural Times. Vicious cycle; you can't escape. posted by cortex at 12:28 PM on March 6, 2006
These are really fun, and brightened my day. Can't wait for the next ones. posted by jrb223 at 1:35 PM on March 6, 2006
This is great. Maybe not drunken hooker great, but great. posted by arto at 5:43 PM on March 6, 2006
I just stumbled on this post thanks to the relevent MetaTalk thread. Cortex, you are now up there with Jonathon Coulton on my list of Favorite Internet-Based Musicians. posted by yankeefog at 8:44 AM on March 29, 2006
