You linked to a Geocities site? Aren't they limited to 10 page views a day (or something equally ridiculous)? posted by Plinko at 10:44 AM on March 8, 2006

Oops. Didn't even think about the geocities thing. Sorry. Well, if you'd like to visit the site sometime, it's a series of links to mp3s of pasta. Seriously. "8 ounces of elbow macaroni being poured from a cardboard box into a plastic container. 59KB; 8 ounces of elbow macaroni being poured from a plastic container into a cardboard box. 56KB; 1 pasta ruffle rolling down a 3-1/8" diameter cardboard tube 40-1/4" long into a 14" diameter stainless steel wok. 24KB; 3 pasta ruffles rolling down a cardboard tube into a wok. 45KB; etc"

Damn, that sounds hot. You might be able to make an entire song out of something like that. posted by bigmusic at 11:01 AM on March 8, 2006
Sounds interesting, Grumblebee. I didn't notice it was from you, and feared it was only another video of someone growing pasta. Pasta makes some fun sounds. posted by Goofyy at 11:14 AM on March 8, 2006
With Google giving everyone gigs and gigs of storage and bandwidth, doesn't Geocities feel just the least bit chincy? Hello?! What is the point?! jeebus. posted by shoepal at 11:14 AM on March 8, 2006

Grumblebee, it's not a bad idea to preload these sites into the Coral Cache and post that link in addition, even with big sites.
It's pretty easy to do.... you insert .nyud.net:8090 after the hostname, but before the actual URL. So the Coralized version of this thread would become http://www.metafilter.com.nyud.net:8090/mefi/49852.
Heh, Coral is very, very slow right now, so it's no panacea. :) posted by Malor at 11:34 AM on March 8, 2006

The first couple of these work for me right now. I'll keep trying the other ones until I can get them working.
