The inevitable deal for a Welcome Back, Kotter movie has been struck. It will be scripted (and DIRECTED) by Tom Brady, responsible for not one, but two Rob Schneider vehicles. And in the lead role as Kotter we have ... Ice Cube???

So, is the answer to "Whatever happened to Gabe Kaplan?" really really sad? Because if it is, I don't wanna know. Ice Cube isn't a terrible choice, but I'd rather see a standup in the role. I bet Patton Oswald or Jim Gaffigan could pull it off.

Does anyone else watch high-stakes poker on GSN? Gabe hosts with AJ Benza--the AJ Benza. It's actually great television if you're into poker--much better than that pansy tournament fake-money stuff. Reall bricks of cash being thrown around, lots of decent Gabe snark. Me like.

Isn't there ANYONE in Hollywood that can come up with an original idea any more? What's next? A remake of Gilligan's Island? Oh. Right. It's been done. Okay. There's no originality in Hollywood any more. I'm waiting for Rowan and Martin's Laugh In. That should be out around May 2007. And Bonanza in 2008 sometime. Then Gunsmoke around 2009.

You know it's quite sad that the money spent on military ventures by various countries around the world in a single day could be so much better spent on education, food for the poor, urban and rural infrastructure, and so forth. The same is true of the money spent to produce this sort of nonsense.
