I don't know who made them first, but I've had my Sniperboy shirt for 3-4 years.
Neat ideas, tho. just my style.

Probably the last thing the world needs is more t-shirts, but I've been telling people about these since they appeared in the Projects. We are thrilled someone is making apparel featuring Presidents Taft, Van Buren, and (especially) Chester A. Arthur. I also like the pterodactyls — well done indeed.

Yeah, I've had 4-5 people e-mail me pointing out that what I thought was a clever idea had already been done (and better) years ago, this is the first time I had seen this particular design had been done before.
It's like my first few quarters of art school, finding out what I thought were great and original ideas I had in high school had already been done to death, half the time before I was born.
Eh, what can you do.

Ironic or not, "against teh man" or otherwise - if I want to pay upwards of $20.00 USD for a cotton tee, I'd just as soon go to a college bookstore or an arena concert. Stencils are the haps.

Keill, I think part of the idea with Projects is that it allows one Mefite to self-link, and some other one to 'promote' it to the blue if they deem it worthy.
At least, that's what I've gathered from the What kind of feedback can I get from a post here part of the about page.

Ah good, I've been waiting for this to show up on the blue for a while so I can point out how much spreadshirts totally sucks. If you try purchasing a shirt you get this crazy-ass flash app that takes like 2 minutes to load everything (every time you try to order a shirt, no caching for you!) and then you get this wonky interface with tiny, tiny graphics so you can make like 9 million little adjustments to your shirt. Because as we all know, if you're going to pay $20 to a shirt, you want to fiddle with it for 2 hours before hand.
Seriously, find another way to sell those shirts!

Actually I'm inclined to agree with both of you. When I used to buy shirts, my cutoff price for a regular cotton tee was no higher then $19.99, for whatever reason as soon as you cross over that $20.00 mark then I think you are asking a bit much.
That flash thingy does take a while to load, and all that jazz, and I never intended it to be the only way to shop around. In fact I had just recently upgraded my shop with that "custom designer" thingy. Unfortunately, after upgrading I needed to go back and redo my fixed pre-designed products, which load much faster. And until tonight, I hadn't done so.
Welp, philcliff posting this link was all the motivation I needed to plow through it all tonight. So yeah, I've added in the fixed design shop along side the customizer. If you click a design now it'll take you to a more traditional setup where you can just pick through some options without fooling around (I added 9 for each design to start out with).
Of course, I've found my tastes to be a bit different then many of my customers, so until I get around to adding another batch I assume the customizer will still come in pretty handy for most folks.
Oh yeah, and back to dalek's point about pricing, if you use that customizer all the prices are set by the Spreadshirt people, and they set them a touch higher then I would prefer. On the fixed shop I've kept all the prices for the basic tees (which are all I've ever been interested in) within the range I would consider buying at, a buck or two under the $20 mark.

I only hope I didn't make some stupid HTML errors in my rush through it all.

I'm 70% percent sure that I just ordered a godzilla shirt. It's hard to tell, because the user interface is really, really crummy. How about a receipt page telling me that my order went through?
I am also annoyed that the site refused to work on my Linux box with firefox.
I'm sorry I am so grumpy. Cool shirts, annoying site.

Hrmm, that's frustrating. The checkout process is all spreadshirt's setup, I just have it nested in an Iframe. I wonder if it's presence in that frame has mucked it up somehow (perhaps setting the links on the checkout page to break out of the frame and continue on it's own will help).
I had no clue there wasn't a confirmation page, since when I ran through my tests I just advanced to the point where It asked me for payment and I assumed that if I got that far it was working correctly (I only have access to a mac and PC for testing, both of which seemed to work fine on firefox so the Linux thing was really out of left field for me).
I'm a real newbie with this sort of stuff, and have just been learning as I go along. I'm sure there any number of things I did poorly, any suggestions on how I might be able to do a better job?

Yeah, Smart Dalek, I started stenciling shirts around Christmas. My friends loved them as gifts. And I can make 4 or 5 shirts for $20, depending on the cost of the blank shirt.
