Yeah, the news reports all say "GUY SHOOTS KID FOR WALKING ON LAWN." I doubt it. The guy told 911, "I’ve been harassed by him and his parents for five years. Today just blew it up." It's the five years that catches my eye. Despite sensationalist reporting, these things are usually the result of persistent escalation and stubborn immaturity by everyone involved.

It's like road rage. There are no "victims" of road rage, only volunteers. No one gets cut off on the highway and suddenly pulls out a gun. What happens is, two cars go back and forth. The truck cuts off the sedan, the sedan cuts off the truck, they race, they slam on their brakes, they flip each other off...and eventually someone gets hurt because neither of them walked away.

A one-linker wouldn't have raised my ire. It is kind of interesting.

But linking the exact same story six times is a profound waste of everyone's time. Two different takes on it... sure. But SIX? That's just silly.

I probably overreacted, there is some humor value in lawncare+homicide, but still. Sheesh.

You know.. when I posted about Pirates and the Spaghetti Monster, I wonder how many people flagged that one. To me, both posts are equally amusing. Okay, maybe there's a bit more clicking in this one.. But it's not exactly the same article. Each has a slightly different perspective, the last one even has a picture of the kid! I'm not much of a social moralist, and if this post goes down, I'll still be able to sleep at night. Hopefully the next time I post, it will be during a 'Funny' cycle..
