I sat and stared at that page for a couple of minutes, thinking "What the hell am I supposed to be seeing, here?"

Then I saw it.

I'm frightened....

I think she winked at me.

Hey, two giraffes!

I couldn't find the giraffes. Can you post a more accurate link to them? The links on that blog take me to zoomed out maps.

more appropriately zoomed

Me too - that's a couple miles from my house.

You know, it seems like the cost vs. benifit ratio, in this case the effort to make it vs. the chance of it being seen, is ludicrously high.

There's something sinister going on here. Is it meant for traffic helicopters? Does a network pay for that?

I don't get it.

Wow. Crop circles sure are getting pretty sophisticated. It's obvious the aliens have chosen their next target.

Well, just to the east there's one that says "News Channel 3".

This is very cool - especially the giraffes.

that is the kind of thing that fills me with hope for humanity. not because it's oprah, but because someone took the time to express appreciation for someone that can literally be seen from space. (maybe not very high up, but from space nonetheless... I hope.)

Please tell me that is photoshopped.

Is this site for people exiled from the Google Earth Community? I love these sites...the pyramids and the Seven Wonders are great stuff to see from above. The Oprah is just scary, though...

Maaaaan, that's an ugly hedge (field?).

These things are often done as Corn Mazes. There was a Napolean Dynamite near where I live in a field not too long ago. They're easily done with a tractor and GPS.

Oh god. This is going to call down a civilization of extraterrestrial daytime talk show hosts, isn't it?

At least we still have those nukes lying around.

Ditto, 27. When I saw the desert background and the crop squares, I though "hey, that looks just like Google Maps of MY neighborhood."

If I was doing that, I think I could rustle up the courage to make a self-link on one of the Google Maps blogs. I can't draw with a pencil though, I suspect I'd struggle with a tractor too.

that site is essentially the same thing as googlesightseeing.com, which I think came first.

Yes, definitely the same thing as Ye Olde GoogleSightseeing.com, which is almost as old as Google Maps itself.
