It was 30 seconds' worth of joke in a three-minute movie. If they'd kept it short, it could have been classic... as is, it's sort of meh. Too little funny spread over too much time. posted by Malor at 6:31 AM on April 8, 2006

That sounds like just about every Saturday Night Live sketch from the last 25 years. posted by Slack-a-gogo at 6:34 AM on April 8, 2006
The YouTube link is about what you'd expect, but the first three links set it up oh so nicely. Good post. posted by zanni at 7:19 AM on April 8, 2006
Good post, perhaps. Lame execution (I'm with Malor on this one). posted by beelzbubba at 7:41 AM on April 8, 2006
Eh, I thought it was pretty damn funny. Liked the elevator reveal. posted by selfnoise at 8:41 AM on April 8, 2006
28 days... six hours... 42 minutes... 12 seconds. That... is when the world... will end. posted by thefreek at 8:47 AM on April 8, 2006
getting the man a second ice cream cone just so he could smack it out of his hands again was the funniest part for me.

I'm a bit confused by the first link. I thought the graphic depiction of torture was how they paid homage to their deities? posted by bcveen at 9:56 AM on April 8, 2006
I loved it. It made me laugh. Thank god for the internets. :> posted by bim at 9:57 AM on April 8, 2006
It's longer than I'd like, but there are no scenes I'd insist on cutting, so I'm cool with it. Have sent to MANY people. posted by 1016 at 11:12 AM on April 8, 2006
Kudzu's monster rabbit link is hilarious: "This is no ordinary rabbit." He forgot to add, "He's got huge, sharp-- eh-- he can leap about-- look at the bones!" posted by bcveen at 11:56 AM on April 8, 2006
I've been surfing Google Video and YouTube for a while now (esp thanks to VideoSift), and that's truly the best laugh out loud experience i've had so far. posted by VulcanMike at 1:16 PM on April 8, 2006
I really like this video, however I feel the need to say one thing about it.
The user uncle_dale has been the biggest problem to date at videosift. I came on board after posting the project to the blue. A dialog evolved between me and dag, and I came on board as an assistant admin.
That user has caused so many problems I had to ban his ip last week. We have a policy, much like metafilter's against self linking. The core of this policy is that self linking leads to the dregs of the interweb, as opposed to truly quality material. Last week he posted the video twice under two different user names. Then proceeded to vote them out of the queue using superfluous user names that were tracked to the same ip.
That was obnoxious but nowhere near as bad as the problem we had a month or so ago. He created 30+ user names in an attempt to vote a video of his on to the top votes page. At that point in time we didn't have any scripts to do large scale user deletes based on ips. I had to spend a solid half hour in php MyAdmin just cleaning up after him. Anyway not any hate against the quality of the video, it had me laughing my ass off. However, his choice of promotional venues definitely left me with a sour taste in my mouth. posted by sourbrew at 4:04 PM on April 8, 2006
aslo, for what it's worth another user posted it a day or so later. One with a long track record of solid contributions, and we left it up. posted by sourbrew at 4:09 PM on April 8, 2006
