I want to see ET the Game the Movie! Or Jupiter Jumpman the movie! But Hover Bovver sounds good too.
I should point out the X-play is a pretty good review show, though it is at times less of a show about games and more about really bizarre low-budget visual jokiness. But they are occasionally pretty darn brilliant. posted by blahblahblah at 10:11 AM on April 11, 2006
Anyone know what happened to the PocketPC version of HB2? That looks awesome. posted by Squid Voltaire at 12:24 PM on April 11, 2006
Consolevania is wonderful (although the most recent episode is a bit ropey) posted by ZippityBuddha at 12:35 PM on April 11, 2006
Ah, Jumpman. How many hours didst I waste on thee? posted by grabbingsand at 1:05 PM on April 11, 2006
What we really need is a MegaMan movie. Or, possibly, Pong the Movie, but I bet that'd get old quickly. posted by casconed at 3:13 PM on April 11, 2006
Seconds after finding a C64 emulator for my Powerbook, I was playing Jumpman. The scary things is, it took less than 2 minutes for the muscle memory to kick in and get me through the early levels without a problem. What I could be doing with those bits of brains.
My vote is for Infiltrator. If you could find a stud studly enough to play Jimbo. posted by yerfatma at 3:18 PM on April 11, 2006
You know, I'm sort of tempted to get in touch with Gardensoft (ho ho) and see about buying the film rights to the legendary Advanced Lawnmower Simulator (Play it online here!), just to have two rival 80s-lawnmower-based-videogame-to-movie adaptations coming out in the same month. What it'd lack in lawnmower-stealing drama it'd make up for in gritty realism. posted by terpsichoria at 4:17 PM on April 11, 2006
terpsichoria - if only we could leak this infor to some Hollywood "insider", there'd probably be about 5 Lawnmower based movie projectes launched by the end of the day... posted by Artw at 4:34 PM on April 11, 2006
