I, for one, never knew Ibsen was a painter...

Did you also get slapped around by Humphrey Bogart?

I don't want to talk about it.

*Confessor shakes his head*

No respect for that idiot.

He sacrificed his artistic integrity on the altar of public opinion.

I didn't know it was Ibsen Year but I am coincidentally doing a lot to celebrate him:

1) Bemoaning my wasted life.

2) Wandering into the performance of Peer Gynt at BAM in Brooklyn during intermission and finding their were plenty of free seats for me to choose from. I suspect people decided not to return for the second half when they realized it wasn't going to be like Hedda Gabler and the actors weren't going to cease speaking in Norwegian.

3) Struggling to write an essay about ecological matters in Ibsen's later plays for my Historical Ecology course at Hunter College.

That videogame was really not much fun. Is it possible to lose?

And they called it an "interactive movie"... huh.... How is that different from a "flash game?"

My god...people don't do such things.

What is this painting trying to convey? I'm beyond depressed and I want you to be too?

Ibsen really is accessible, but so many don't think so and just avoid him---Doll's House and Hedda Gabler especially. They read very well too.

Don't forget Green Integer's edition of Joyce's several essays on Ibsen. Thank god for Douglas Messereli.
