Easily mispronounced domain names. Like mp3shits.com. You'll have to cut and paste the links to see for yourself that someone (or better yet, a committee of people) actually thought a particular domain name was a good idea. Another example: whorepresents.com. The list is short, but through the mighty powers of Mefi members, it could be oh so much longer. via grūpthink.

Purple: maybe because the 'the' isn't really needed. Also this grupthink site totally sucks. I tried to add 'grupthink.com' as an entry but then it asked for an email address and that was just too much work. Actually Paul Grahm wrote that you should never make users register with an email address to you're your service, and I agree with him. It's idiotic. What's the point? There was a web2.0-powered word-clone released a while back, and I'm sure about 95% of the people curious to try it didn't because of the need to register via Email. I know I didn't.

Have they really? That's interesting. I've had friends throughout the seventies, eighties and nineties who worked for Morrison & Foerster, and they always refer(red) to it as 'MoFo'.

Not a hoax, then, but no relation to the UK PowerGen company. webos = huevos? That's stretching it. Dunno about Latin America, but in Spain (or so my Malaga-born teacher said) the b/v sounds are indistinguishable: to Spanish ears Barcelona and Valencia start with the same consonant.

Not to derail my own post, but: oh, come on, delmoi: how did you register for myspace or even metafilter? Email addresses aren't so hard to enter. I admit, sometimes it's a pain, but grupthink's process was pretty painless. It's a hassle/reward ratio issue. I was willing to put up with the obsessive-compulsive rewarding required to sign up when I did, and newer members here are willing to shell out the five bucks to join ~~the Homestarmy~~MeFi, because MeFi promises an almost infinite amount of sweet contenty lovin' in return. Requiring more than five seconds worth of effort to vote in a web poll or post a blog comment or whatnot, knowing your relationship with it is gonna be a one-minute stand, ain't worth it.
