A buddy of mine said that some hunters in Florida take their hogs live so that they can keep them in a pen for a month or so and fatten them up.

They’re kind of like O.J. They’ll do anything to stay out of the pen

Hahhahahha

...wait, what?

There's nothing about that sentence I don't like.

Spook tucked the guts back into Charley’s abdomen and used a surgical stapler to close the wound. Years ago, he sutured his dogs, but the stapler is quicker.

Funny Post.

In Volterra Italy a couple years back I had boar that was knock-your-sock-off amazing. The care taker at the villa we stayed at hunted it on property. I don't usually eat pork (Damn that "Babe.") but I felt like I would be insulting the guy since he risked life and limb to get the thing for our dinner. Wow. Was it good.

Yeah. A buddy of mine says he does the same thing with hitch hi... er... wait. Forget I said anything.

Spook once nabbed a 473-pounder (hog). "I got him off a dairy," he says. "He was domestic, so he don’t count."

Pig Milk: The New White Drink!

Seriously though, wtf is a boar doing at a dairy?

Carnal Knowledge: How I became a Tuscan butcher, by Bill Buford.
I wanted a pig.

My friend Paul sold pigs. He owned Violet Hill Farm and had a Saturday stand at the Greenmarket on Union Square. But Paul had only sucklings. I’d returned from Italy and didn’t want a suckling. I wanted a proper pig, a big one. Could Paul get me a big pig?...

For me, meat wasn’t a cause. I just believe people should know what they’re eating. At the Greenmarket, you overheard discussions about fertilizers and soils and how much freedom a chicken needs before its eggs are free-range. Wouldn’t it follow that you’d want to know your meat? I had brought home a freshly killed animal—better raised than anything I’d find at a store—and, in preparing it, I was hoping to rediscover old-fashioned ways of making food. This, I felt, could only be positive. But I was sure getting a lot of shit for it...
