Foreign Relations of the United States, 1861-1960. Foreign Relations volumes contain documents from Presidential libraries, Departments of State and Defense, National Security Council, Central Intelligence Agency, Agency for International Development, and other foreign affairs agencies as well as the private papers of individuals involved in formulating U.S. foreign policy. In general, the editors choose documentation that illuminates policy formulation and major aspects and repercussions of its execution. This enormous collection of documents is now available online at the University of Wisconsin. Example: Kennan's Long Telegram, February 22, 1946. Great stuff. Kennan's Long Telegram and subsequent "X" article are worthy FPP topics some day, by the way. I heard the guy speak once, and, while he was interesting, I kept thinking "This is the guy who invented containment?"
