They used to show us this probably on a yearly basis in school, and I loved it, and have thought about it ever since. It could be the 2000 election in a nutshell, except for the 49% that just didn't fucking get it.

I saw the movie as a kid and never knew there was a book (until later). Phantom Tollbooth was one of my favorite childhood books. It taught me rigamarole, a word a use daily now that I work in a bureaucracy.

Wonderful film -- but this is a wretched way to see it. A horrible capture from the cartoon network at a piffling bitrate with persistent branding in the lower right and nasty, muddy sound. If you want to see it properly you may be able to rent the DVD of The Glass Bottom Boat which reportedly has it as an extra.

I've always really enjoyed the Dot and Line book and movie. What a treat to see them online. I love it when math concepts are made human for people like myself who are math challenged and need to see concepts made into narratives or more three dimensionally. There are kissing numbers and love triangles.
