Windows only, no descriptions.
There were a number of sites which specialized in Mac share/freeware, but OS X forced many admins to drop support of legacy systems. VersionTracker, Tucows, and MacUpdate still carry the torch, while Freemacware and others are OS X centric. C'mon, 400 links to anything without descriptions is just noise. posted by 2sheets at 10:55 AM on May 30, 2006
For those seaching for Macware, Hyperjeff has a great database, searchable by license (free, share, demo, etc.), kind (Aqua, Carbon, Unix, etc.), and type (audio, video, business...).
And, yes, there are descriptions. posted by lekvar at 11:45 AM on May 30, 2006
When looking for Windows freeware, I much prefer Pricelessware. posted by jiawen at 4:11 PM on May 30, 2006
A+ Freeware are choice applications, which when combined, make the complete freeware package. In other words, all you need is the operating system (Windows) and you won't have to spend one cent on software.
This site is a technology/community website with a great dowload list with free programs and an active forum it also has news updated every hour, completely free.
