This song has been around for a long time, but it's the first time I've seen any video for it. The lyrics are mostly made-up semi-English/German with Swedish:

Global Fussball OK, Global fussball OK

Aren sie ready ready fûr fussball? Fussball total. Från Skåne to Lappland wir hejen på Schweden. Schweden hurra! Zuzammen wir winnen, winnen der VM. Vinn der pokal. Wir joxen mit trasan schlagen pastejen. Mit korrekt adresse, adresse korrekt.

Global fussball OK- party, fussball party!

Wir spielen wir sjungen wir sparken den ball. Fussball total. Wir hållen der nolle- Lagerbäck kontroll. Schweden hurra. Trinidad sind gut, Paraguay sind besser. Win der pokal. Das England sind super but wir sind the best.

Global fussball OK- party fussball party!

Global fussbal OK OK (stegrande

Global fussball OK- party, fussball party.

The lyrics probably make more sense if you've drunk a lot of beer. or schnapps. or tequila.

uncle harold: seeing as the lyrics are a combination of swedish and german... I thought that the description northern Europeans fit the bill.

Specifically, I think it's Swedes mocking Germans -- so it's Swedish with mock-German and some bits of English thrown in for good measure. Translating it would be pretty damn hard.

It's so rare that I'm the least cranky person in a group. Sure, it's no rednecksurfing, but jesus h. criminy, maybe a silly song about the virtue of fussbal that mocks germans was what was needed after hearing that there is no such thing as *sniff, pout* Rove Fitzmas.

Tyskarna från Lund (The Germans From Lund) is a project involving people from Varanteatern, probably one of the least funny comedy troupes in modern history. That said, this song is pretty good.

"Global Fussball OK" was first released in 2002, by the way. I suppose this is the 2006 version.

...oh yeah (it's all coming back to me now), in 2002 they also released a christmas single, "Achtung X-Mas!" (complete with an Andreas Tilliander remix). You'll probably find it at The Pirate Bay... :)
