Why are a blind man's songs so full of images? As GWB's favorite press corps member would say - "I guess it depends on your perspective." posted by jtajta at 3:45 PM on June 20, 2006

Thanks for the link to the Pseudopodium article: didn't agree with all of the author's points, exactly, but it's good to know there are folks out there still taking the time to think about (and write thoughtfully about) the Delta blues: a genre that so many mistakenly think they already really know about. It's a deep, deep musical world, still full of surprises and relevance for all of us alive today. posted by flapjax at midnite at 5:37 PM on June 20, 2006

The MP3 Blog over at Honey, Where You Been So Long has lots of rare and tasty old blues to sample - selection changes often. Of course, you all know about the 78s of every genre posted over at Juneberry's. And then there is the uniquely named Weenie Campell's streaming country blues radio, which allows you to make requests that are promptly broadcast. posted by zaelic at 3:23 AM on June 21, 2006
Hey, Juneberry has a couple of chatty willie mctell gospel
renditions I hadn't heard-- and the links don't age off!
