"I was robbed by two men!"

"Spare me my life!" In the innocuous early '90's, Fuji TV came up with Zuiikin English, a television program which combined quirky language lessons with bradykinetic exercise. Was Zuiikin English ahead of its time? Or is it merely enjoyable bunk? (More here and here.)

I was subjected to this before caffeine this morning. I don't have a point. I just wanted to complain some more about seeing this while not fully awake.

How dare you say such a thing to me!

Catchy song. Strange phrases. Sounds like they expect something bad to happen anytime they might need to speak English.

Now cycling endlessly through my brain is the chant:

Take—Anything—You Want!

Take—Anything—You Want!

Take—Anything—You Want!

Youtube with extra context. I jest. As the broadband gets broader we all become smaller. Or whatever. Weirdly memorable.

saw this about a week ago. The whole "traveling abroad" segment wasn't uploaded by then... so, thanks!

The first time I saw this I thought it was some kind of weird art like the poodle aerobics girl.

Television in Japan is far, far more creative and amusing than back in North America. Hell, even the commercials are of better quality.

Is this a good time for that pic of the Japanese girl getting punched?

Now what I want, on terrestrial TV in the US, are shows like this to teach me foreign languages.

The shows on tv here in Japan for teaching foreigners Japanese are absolutely ridiculous. There's one that was on for awhile where they have a bunch of Japanese-fluent actors who pretend to not know Japanese and be students, and it is so obviously fake and scripted it's really silly to watch. They're just way over the top.

Are we sure this wasn't taken from Tom Goes to the Mayor?
