A series of mixes from Providence eclectic label Fort Thunder, home of Ninja Versus Wrestler and Forcefield. As part of an aplty amorphous and chaotic "noise" scene, the mixes contain otherwise unreleased music from bands like Lightning Bolt, Mindflayer, 25 Suave, and a bevy of other bands from labels like Load, Animal Disguise and Bulb. Good music with a dirt-simple interface.

Fort Thunder was Fucking Awesome. I went there once, like four years ago on a whim, maybe a month before they condemned it. It's now being turned into condos, just like the rest of the west-side of Providence. Except Cranston St., which is still keeping it extremely grimy.

Deathbomb Arc in LA puts out a lot of punk-meets-noise-meets-whatever stuff that fits right in with Fort Thunder styles. (I posted about DBA and Captain Ahab yesterday) Brian "Cave In" Ralph also did a stint at Fort Thunder. A+ fellows

. I lived in a warehouse in the lot directly behind Fort Thunder in 2001-2002. Each day I'd return to work to see another building gone and more of my own humble abode visible. One of the saddest sights was watching those guys gingerly lower their instruments by rope and pully out of a corner window down to the ground on the last day they were there.

I had no idea they were a performance space too. I only knew them, really, through following the Load/Bulb/FT bands when they came through here. Tons of cool stuff though.
