under these murderers who rule from the roll of dollars there seems no action, no intervention, no destabilisation, no corruption beyond them

whaat the nazi did with death - the united states has now done with degradation

they cannot be shamed because each act is another level of guilt which they wear like a badge

arggggghhhhhhhhhhh!

If you want them in jail, you'll want to clean up your act and work hard to ensure Dems take control of Congress this year. But, you really won't get far with a lead like that.

I don't see anything wrong with the lead at all. Bush is making up the rules as he's going along. He doesn't care because he knows that, legally, we haven't the power to touch him.

And then, we still have the idiots and the assholes on the right who protect him every step of the way.

If any American isn't outraged, they're not paying attention.

BTW, does anyone else think that it's a good thing more and more Republicans are turning on the administration? If the democrats were a little ballsier (or, heck, a LOT ballsier), maybe they could start a public "transparent government is good" meme. I'm not holding my breath, though.

You could go where a lot of them originate.
posted by secret about box at 6:56 PM on July 9, 2006

well, that one occurred to me, but you have to pay $10 to get in there, and it's just not worth the money PLUS dealing with forum goons.

The "general bullshit" forum is publicly viewable, no account necessary.

I actually had the same hesitation before I joined, but I gotta say, I've seen and taken part in so much funny stuff in the forums that it's been more than worth it. There's consistently more value in the one-time $10 membership fee than a $50 recurring Comcast bill, at least for me. Can't speak for everybody, of course. (I also am quite happy I spent $5 for a MeFi account. Been worth it.)

The two things to keep in mind about the SA forums:

1. There are assholes everywhere in the world, and the SA forums have their representative pie slice. Ignore them and focus on the stuff you like. (There's stuff for everyone.) Usually, most goons will jump on the total dicks, and the (rather strict) mods are good about keeping things peaceful.

2. If you can't mock the things you are fond of, you're taking life too seriously.

I wonder why Bush continues to get away with everything he's doing?

Yes, gentle ribbing of spittle-sprayers means the Oligarchs Win! We must all rage, and redouble our rage, because, you know, that's a strategy that's been eminently effective thus far in limiting the onslaught by America's leaders against the principles that people have always -- no matter how spuriously -- believed America as a nation stood for.

Yes, we must stand back, cowed, in awe and respect at the mighty power of impotent fury, because that's what men are supposed to do when faced with a government that embodies some of the worst impulses of humanity while mouthing feelgood platitudes about of 'freedom' and 'democracy': they post about their outrage on a website.

Yes, remaining calm and trying to have a sense of humour in the face of the shitstorm: that's why George Bush continues to shit on America from a great height.

Clearly.
