RedButtons, a comedian perhaps more famous for his dramaticroles and for his famous "Never got a dinner!" line at many Friar's Club roasts. (He finally got his own roast in 1982), died yesterday at the age of 87.
Glad you got your dinner, Red. posted by WhipSmart (21 comments total)
Wow. That bio page mentions "The Ambulance". For those who haven't seen it (lucky you), Red throws the contents of a bed pain in a bad guy's face.
Tangential Red Buttons anedote: His son Adam went to my high school, and was the biggest jackass of entire bunch. I made him cry by saying mean things to him, and was sent to the principal's office. Screw you, Adam Buttons, my dad's still alive! Advantage:jonson! posted by jonson at 3:38 PM on July 13, 2006 [12 favorites]

c'mon grouchland, where's your sense of humor? Wait a second... crunchland isn't an alias for Adam Buttons, is it??!?! Wow... this is kinda awkward. Um... sorry about your dad, dude. I've always liked your links... posted by jonson at 3:51 PM on July 13, 2006

Geoff Tipps: Well, things finally started going my way ladies and gentlemen. In '84 both our mothers got badly sick, mine, thank God, she got better. But yours DIED didn't she Mike? Didn't she?
[Mike, in great pain and sorrow nods] Geoff Tipps:Yeah, I won that. At least I won the mums! posted by potsmokinghippieoverlord at 5:22 PM on July 13, 2006
Wasn't he in that original star trek episode about Jack the Ripper? Or was that the Winnie the Pooh guy? I get them mixed up. posted by Dag Maggot at 9:31 PM on July 13, 2006
dag maggot: That was John Fiedler. He was the voice of Piglet and he died last year.
