French photographer Cedric Delsaux takes pictures of Star Wars characters (in figurine) and superimposes them onto French architecture, with interesting results.

Geek that I am, I'd actually be interested in buying a print of one or two of those. Very neat stuff. I just wish there were more pieces than the 8 that are on the site.

I have no truck with Star Wars but I still love the surreal beauty of these. The one with the stormtroopers under the overpass reminds of me of Half-Life 2 somehow... sci-fi totalitarianism meets stark European architecture. Quite affecting, really.

poweredbybeard - that's a very interesting observation, I was wondering what it is about these that grabs me, but it's clearly the HL2/City 17 effect. Seeing alien/sci-fi characters in a modern European city setting, especially armored troopers, it's funny that I completely missed it until you mentioned it. In fact, the whole project reminds me of the Half-Life 2 in Real Life rendering thing from a year ago.

Toys superimposed on cityscapes was one of the things I loved about Leisure Town. These images are definitely more stylish (though not quite as funny). Very cool.

jonson - it looks like the pictures from that link aren't hosted anymore, but I was intrigued, and found another. Obviously took some skill, but I was disappointed with the composition - not too atmospheric. The wow-factor of an Overwatch Elite sitting on a kid's bed has, um, a short half-life. But I did like this one:
