I find these rather annoying. But...
here's a thread (w/ spoilers) at nordinho.net, which has lots of links to puzzle games and games in general. In fact it's probably a better forum to post game links. posted by jeblis at 8:59 PM on July 19, 2006
Okay, got it. Was mistyping. Now stuck on getting 14. posted by justkevin at 9:00 PM on July 19, 2006
I got a spoiler for "thirteen, unlucky ...", but still have no idea how you could be expected to complete that. posted by gsteff at 9:22 PM on July 19, 2006
Does it end at twenty-one? I can figure out what the next answer should be, but it doesn't seem to take me anywhere.... posted by painquale at 9:30 PM on July 19, 2006
Heh heh, nope, there's a 22. You're just a little off...
(stuck on 22, though!) posted by equalpants at 9:33 PM on July 19, 2006
haha, it was THIS post that finally made me sign up for metafilter after multiple years.
Getting from 22 to 23 is tricky...you think you have the answer but it doesn't seem to work. The answer is slightly different than the one that is first apparent.
I could post a hint if you like ;-) posted by geodave at 9:40 PM on July 19, 2006
Rest of solutions: http://blog.konieczny.be/2006/07/14/letni-numerek/ posted by Krrrlson at 9:53 PM on July 19, 2006
The funny thing is, though I got far enough along once I understood the point of the exercise, initially I didn't get anyhere. I looked at the first page, saw that it had a link, clicked to the second page, saw that there was essentially nothing there, viewed source, looking for something interesing, didn't find it, went directly to the style sheet, nothing interesting there either, went back to page one, viewed source, nothing interesting there, "WTF??" and came here to look at comments about how this must be a useless FPP.
I kinda misunderstood the assignment. posted by Brak at 9:59 PM on July 19, 2006
That "rest of solutions" link sort of deflates all the fun.

"WTF??" and came here to look at comments about how this must be a useless FPP.
Yeah, I seriously considered leaving instructions in the first comment along the lines of "This is a puzzle - try to get to the thirtieth page in the sequence. The clue on each page relates to that page number, and the next page number must be entered in the same manner in the URL" ersomethin.
But I thought the mysterious nature of the puzzle kind of warranted a mysterious FPP. Clearly the author of the puzzle - who left no instructions of his own - felt that figuring out how to play was part of the challenge and the fun (and I tend to agree) so who am I to mess with that? I hoped the tags would be enough of a clue.
In fact it's probably a better forum to post game links.
I did exactly the same, Brak, and took an embarrassing amount of time to get to page 3!
But once I got going it was great fun, and for the very first time, being able to count in the language of my Grandmother has come in handy! I'm completely fucking stumped by 21, though.

Kind of neat, though having to read the source for one is kind of a cop out compared to the rest of the puzzle. I never thought grade school French would be useful (Thank you Mme Jolliceur!)
I didn't try to complete it because it looks like it's an exercise in google-fu after this.
Also, for the record, I always want dancing girls. posted by substrate at 5:54 AM on July 20, 2006

What the hell am I supposed to do with "196"? posted by CunningLinguist at 6:49 AM on July 20, 2006
Cunning, think about the number puzzle you're on, and try to relate it to 196. posted by inigo2 at 6:53 AM on July 20, 2006
I added it, multiplied it, subtracted it. Even looking at the spoiler leaves me mystified. I give up. Plus, morse code now? Bah. posted by CunningLinguist at 6:55 AM on July 20, 2006

I stopped short of 14 because I'd no idea. After looking at the spoilers, it's not something that would ever occur to me, nor do I have the slightest idea where it comes from or why it would occur to anyone else, either. posted by George_Spiggott at 11:06 AM on July 20, 2006
I got to 2.
Wheeeeee! posted by Outlawyr at 11:19 AM on July 20, 2006
Linguist, you didn't do quite enough. In the order of operations (well, in reverse), it goes add/subtract, multiply/divide, then what?
(I got stuck on this one, too, because I was convinced the solution was related to the 196 Algorithm. Also, of course, 1-9-6 = -14, but that isn't it, either.) posted by ChasFile at 11:49 AM on July 20, 2006
