3D Starmaps

3D Starmaps by Winchell Chung. (I knew him for his game illustrations before I ever knew about his starmaps.) The site contains lots of information about how to make 2D/3D starmaps from standard star tables, a nice selection of pre-existing maps and one of the best listings of 3D starmap software around.

The section of his site which I keep bookmarked are the Atomic Rockets pages, with all sorts of handy references on how to create your own realisticish spacefaring SF setting.

This sounds cool, but my Dell's screen is only 2D. I need one of those new Apple laptops with the 3D screen.

Shesh, I must be going blind. I totally missed this post when it went by. I'm Winchell Chung, and I thank Rachel Kronick for starting this thread.

And Mr. Greenfield, I'm glad you liked the howitzer picture I did for you.
