Hillary Clinton and Jesse Jackson's wife are both the sad victims of infidelity by their husbands. At the time of the picture his wife didn't know Jesse had cheated on him.

Yeah, this is pretty dumb. Actually I thought this would be the extreme over-the-top apposite of all those Bush is dumb/Ashcroft's a racist posts. But then again, someone else posted yet another Ashcroft link just today.

Why would he be thinking with improper grammar? Anyone who has heard Jesse Jackson speak knows he doesn't talk like that. You are revealing more about yourself with this post than you might have intended.

Yeah, that was me with the Aschcroft post Tiaka. Seemed to be worthy of the front page, since it was a significantly different angle on the Ashcroft issue than other posts, but maybe not. Guess we shouldn't continue this conversation here though. :)

Personally, I can't get enough of celebrity sex talk. I'd like to hear a blow by blow (no pun intended) account of every sexual act committed by every celebrity and politician.
What is wrong with people? Why is this even newsworthy?

It is newsworthy not for the sex, but for the question of inappropriate Rainbow Coalition funds being used to support the Reverend Jesse Jackson's mistress and illegitimate child.

"Sad" is in the eye of the beholder. Sure they've both had some awkward, embarrassing experiences in the public eye, but I wouldn't call them "sad". I think they've both got a lot to be proud of. Believe it or not, not everyone experiences things the same way. While I'm sure Clinton was hurt by her husband's infidelity, it didn't send her world crashing down as it would for, say, my (hypothetical) wife.

Did he in fact misappropriate funds? I love bashing this guy as that next guy, but, is there any proof of this? Or is it just his non-profit status? Still, he does ride around in a limo and such.

Of course it has nothing to do w/ misappropriation of funds. It has to do with getting back at him for making life hard for Bush in the election aftermath.

But, if the way the right gets back at him is to expose actual misappropriation of funds within his organization - I don't see a problem with it.

If I was a donor to his organization, I'd sure as hell want to know that my money wasn't used to shut up a woman Jackson had been boning. Regardless of the other circumstances surrounding this issue, that is a relevant and legitimate question.

The worst possible thing about this revelation is that it might make Al Sharptn assume a greater leadership role. Jesse J has for sure goofed. But I bet those that he has helped free when he went overseas to rescue folks held captive are a lot less harsh on him.

I am amazed though that a man can have an affair, get a woman preganat, not have enough sense to have the foetus aborted, and then send the woman on her way, h=elkping her out with money and caring too for the child, while maintaining a wife at the same time.

I begin to sense I am either old fashioned or simpy not up to snuff.

Jackson's detractors will delight in the story. Those who like Jackson will wonder at the mess he has made. Not very far back, the Village Voice had a piece on how Jackson, supported by some major conservative money folks,sent him the word to stop making a big issue about the black votes being absued in Florida. The piece in fact suggested that Jackson had sold out. I wonder now if they might have had some knowledge ofthis business and used it.

Amen. During yesterday's Ashcroft hearings the camera on C-SPAN suddenly left the senators and focused on Sharpton standing in the back of the room. He then hosted at least two call-in shows, like he was taking over the place.

We don't know yet when he told Jackie and the kids about this. It could have been some time ago, given the fact that he acknowledged the child and was paying support.

A $40,000 moving allowance actually isn't a big deal for an executive. It might be, for a non-profit, but non-profits always have to compensate their high-level employees in direct ways because they can't give them stock options or profit-sharing. But if the child support comes from anywhere other than Jackson's bank account, then we've edging toward another Lyons problem (National Baptist leader who embezzled $4M for himself, mistress).

I didn't read anything about the woman's move being paid for by the organization instead of Jackson. Unless that can be substantiated it is just baseless gossip.
