James Patten creates interactive works in diverse media with themes including performance and social commentary. Projects include Tactile Photography and, most impressive to me, The Audio Pad.

The Audio Pad has a snazzy visual interface and all, but how much more of this utterly generic house/euro-electro (complete with the obligatory yawn-inspiring synth pads) do we need? If you close your eyes and just listen to the music... hey, might as well be a laptop. Maybe someone with a bit more, uh, imagination could put some interesting samples into the thing (at least) and perhaps make some genuinely new music to go with the new interface.
