Carnival of Mel

Carnival of Mel: Moxie and Steve H are getting drunk and blogging it in real time. It's a controlled (ha!) experiment to see if it makes them anti-semitic, the way Mel Gibson says it does.

Steve is doing boilermakers. I wonder if he'll last ten hours before passing out?

I see a new t-shirt in the making

"It's not the Jews
It's the Booze

Somehow I read this as Mel Brooks and Steve Martin are blogging drunk.

I love it when a linked site, the sole link in an FPP, has "an antidote to the mental disease known as liberalism" as its banner.

Seriously, that rules.

Yeah when I get drunk in the afternoon on a Tuesday I like to pretend it is for a great creative experiment.

Maybe not the funniest thing ever, but I'm going to try to work, "I've had one beer and I feel like slapping Jackie Mason," into every drinking conversation I have from now on.

Ok guys get screwed up to see if they act screwed up...?

I'm guessing the updates will...uh...start to slow down.

I was about to say, 'Hey, who cares, getting drunk to see if it makes you go Gibson is almost mildly amusing', but then I read some of the site. What a total mouth-breather, I can't believe someone would spend that much time arguing against the left entirely on the basis that they're fat, ugly and smell funny. Though it could be a fiendishly accurate satire of a frothing right-winger. I find it increasingly hard to tell.

[this is not funny]

[not offensive, just not funny]

Now that would be awesome.

I enjoy making fun of crazy-ass, antisemitic Xtian-loon Mel as much as anyone, but this is not an entertaining post.

Christ, I dunno how many times I've gotten drunk and blogged it in realtime.

I never got anti-semitic, but I did get overly sentimental a few times, and had a marked tendency to sing along with early Tom Waits and end up dancing in my underwear.

This picture was brought to you by the other, less famous, Moxie.

...if it makes you go Gibson...

Okay, I am really hoping that this concept of "going Gibson" enters popular culture.

Flagged as "noise". Absolutely nothing like "Best of the Web".

I suppose you can't really pass up this opportunity. I mean, if you support Israel, this is like paydirt: a chance to burn an honest-to-God anti-semite! This is a real opportunity. The longer you keep this in the news, the bigger it gets blown up, it sends a message, loud and clear. It's like those poor Jews--Mel Gibson hates them! See?! Do you see?!

It sort of reminds me of the sheer relief everybody felt after the Rodney King beating. You just knew those racists were still out there. The enemy is always waiting, always ready.

I do it maybe once a year, but it is a tremendous good time to get drunk at noon and just walk around Manhattan sloshed in the afternoon grind.

By the way, the bit on the Colbert Report monday about this was the funniest thing I'd seen in a while. It's not on Youtube, but here's Colbert making fun of John Gibson.

I totally agree with jack_mo. Does she really hate liberals, or was she making fun of the right? I thought anyone who blogged about cats that much must be a liberal.

Do you ever think of Pamela from Atlas Shrugs naked? With oil?

This made me throw up in my mouth a little. And then a lot.
