Pierce Bush, future President

Piercy is at it again. You may remember Pierce Bush (George W.'s nephew) from this video. Well, now you can see the future president in action. Like uncle, like nephew. These shots swiped from his Facebook profile are quite amusing, to say the least.

Coors Light, Bud Light, and what looks like Natty or Keystone. Kid should get some taste.

seriously, he's in the royal family of america and drinks keystone light?

Twenty year-olds can drink legally in Texas? Did Pierce issue a signing statement that the drinking age doesn't apply to him?
posted by orthogonality at 11:23 PM on August 1, 2006

There are no laws... or ages in Texas.
posted by TetrisKid at 11:45 PM on August 1, 2006

Just get used to it guys. The Bush's are going to pull another scam somehow and this guy will be the 47th president. Just after Jeb and Rumsfeld have had their turns.

The kid seems fun and chill. I don't see why any of you feel he should uphold any other standard than enjoying life for himself right now.

What the fuck is going on with that tranny bum? I'm all for drinking with hot chicks but that bum shit seems fucked up and exploitive.

what is with that haircut?

...and this is like 90% of the other underage facebook profiles out there. He isn't being groomed for anything (yet?); why the scrutiny?
posted by pantsrobot at 1:45 AM on August 2, 2006

delmoi, chill out. That tranny bum is an Austin fixture and, I assure you, not being exploited any more than he wants to be. He's been around for a while. Wonkette links to his Wikipedia entry, even.
posted by polyhedron at 1:50 AM on August 2, 2006

Oh, and yeah, it's one thing when the dude gets on a cable news network. That's definitely fair game. But who cares what he does in his personal life? This is pretty lame on Wonkette's part.

And drinking at 20 is far from horrible so don't claim some BS about "but he's breaking the law!"

I watched half a minute of the Today Show interview and stopped. It was just too, too painful.

Worse than breaking the law, he seems to think he's above the law. He'll be Presidential material in no time.
posted by Blazecock Pileon at 2:41 AM on August 2, 2006

delmoi- what polyhedron didn't mention is that tranny bum (Leslie is his name) is a former candidate for mayor of Austin.
posted by papakwanz at 2:46 AM on August 2, 2006

I think that one photo of Leslie and Pierce -- the one where Leslie's showing all the cheek -- is enough to lose Pierce the fundie vote all by itself.
posted by pax digita at 3:13 AM on August 2, 2006

I wonder if Leslie had any idea that was a Bush. Since usually she's got an anti-government rant on a huge sign. Well, at least the last time I saw her she did.

Let's just wait and see before accusing a young man (who hasn't done anything worse than I did at the age of 13) of being a silver-spoon asshole president in waiting, hmm? It's very depressing to see people doing to Pierce what was done to Chelsea Clinton.

So this is facebook's business model. Get everyone to put stupid or incriminating pictures of themselves on their site now, wait ten years for them to enter politics, and then blackmail them.

Why aren't they being good old money and staying out of the limelight? Shouldn't he be summering some place right about now with people in his own tax bracket, instead of getting easy ass in Austin? Lame, there's a reason they invented St. Tropez, so douche bags like these would be shipped off for several months out of the year.
posted by geoff. at 8:11 AM on August 2, 2006

I loathe the Bush clan, too, but he isn't doing anything worse than most of us did at that age in those pics, so I'm disinclined to bust his balls.

Thank God Facebook and MySpace weren't around when I was in college, that's all I can say.
posted by blucevalo at 8:48 AM on August 2, 2006

He's a 20 yr old citizen with shitty relations. It's disgusting that in a desire to loath the worst president in the history of america shitheels like wonkette and whoever posted this need to attempt to highlight basically harmless behavior of a youth.

Yeah, it's public, he put it up on facebook, you know what, comb through the rest of facebook, i'm sure you'll be able to find a relative of a ceo smoking cigarettes and playing grab ass, and oh how it will be funny and we can all point and feel superior.

since, i am assuming that in posting this you are expressing your liberalese, just think about a future in which everyone who has ever done anything is offered up for public amusement and consumption, then go read some orwell, and think about twice about posting about a kid again.

Whoa, dhammond has it.

And these photos mean nothing for Pierce's presidential hopes. They merely provide concrete evidence of his future past (wha?) indiscretions, against which he will dramatically turn in a Jesus-based orgy of self-righteousness and sanctimony just in time for his political career to require the support of complacent southern evangelicals, the same evangelicals, coincidentally, that love that sort of demonstrative, purported behavior modification.

And all is well with the world.
