I want to grab the left front tire, pull it back to a 45 degree angle, and let go. oh, and run away

That's a thing of beauty...

See also Damian Ortega. He did this with a VW Beetle. I saw it late last year. Naturally, I argued with the useless security guards as I tried to get a closer look.

The post's description had me braced for a literal explosion. This, however, is amazing.

I've always wanted to see a Formula One car explode, does that count?

That's amazing, reminds me of looking through service manuals for various vintage cars as a kid.

3200 parts. That's 3200 wires measured, cut, attached at both ends on measured centers from the overhead support structure and, damn, what a lot of detail work that display is! Cool that a busy F1 team would get that involved in a project of this type, too.

I was all ready to post a snarky comment about "Exploded F1 vehicles" and then I clicked on the post... Damn, that's cool!

Formula 1 monocoque/safety cell construction (built to FIA regulations), aided by driver restraints, clothing, and helmets saves lives when all those parts come unwired. No F1 World Championship drivers have been killed since 1994.

When I see things like this, I always think it looks like a huge executive toy. Wouldn't it be fun to get that pile of metal swinging back and forth?

Anyway, cool link. Thanks.

What, you mean like this? [more]

The fact that they didn't explode the engine is a bit of a cheat (although quite understandable, given the secrets within), but they get extra points for doing the transaxle.

Overall, holy shit batman!

Update: How about an (unintentional) exploded view of a Ferrari Enzo?
