As I said in that "previously" post, Peter Callesen's art is some of my favorite art ever. It makes my heart sing. Just my cup of visual magic. It's exquisite work. I first fell in love with cut paper art years ago with Japanese cut paper architecture. There are other paper art sites that are charming too, like Béatrice Coron. It was from her site I learned that: The term "silhouette" originates from the name of Etienne de Silhouette, a Frenchman who was a finance minister to the Duke of Orleans. He was not the originator of this type of picture, but the French were apparently very impressed by his work: they came to refer to all works of this type by his name. But Peter Callesen's art vastly transcends the geometry of origami architecture and the two dimensionality of silhouette images. It's sublime. So nice to know his website address and be able to return and savor his work. Thanks bob sarabia.
