Just got back from visiting Harwell's studio during a first Friday gallery hop in downtown Raleigh and thought of y'all. Not quite as powerful as seeing them in their full glory, but still pretty cool. posted by mediareport at 8:30 PM on August 4, 2006

Seconding ericb's beautiful. :) Thanks mediareport. I've always enjoyed the unstructured geometry of crazy quilts and I love the astronomy quilts, especially this one.
Agreed. These are brilliant. Thanks, mediareport. posted by homunculus at 9:42 PM on August 4, 2006

If you ever happen to find yourself in Athens, Ohio in the late spring/early summer, be sure to check out the Quilt National show at the Dairy Barn.
If not, you can buy catalogs of past exhibits here -- I can look at my copy of Fabric Gardens for hours on end... Japanese quilters do some amazing work! posted by bitter-girl.com at 5:09 PM on August 5, 2006
