This is crazy old. Here's a link from 2002 to the SEQUEL to this movie. If it's not a double, it's possibly the most "linked to in comments without ever being FPP'd" item in Metafilter history.

Well, I watched that video. It was amusing, but only because I'm being extremely lazy right now on a Saturday afternoon and I'm waiting around for a woman, whose pants I want to get into again, to call. Normally I'd chime in at this online forum of overeducated and mostly cynical people who have nothing better to do with their lives than post here, if only to kill off some time at the day job because the work bores me silly. But because I'm waiting around and I feel some need to be included, I've decided to offer a one-adjective post that I'll probably forget about five minutes later.

I love how that clip has basically every Canadian commercial television actor in it. Colin Mochrie sells cookies, the 'director' sells banking services, the blond woman sells yogourt, 'bob' sells everything that requires 'everyguy/dad', all over and over during canadian commercial breaks.

I work in the advertising business, and played about 5 minutes of this DVD for a prominent director when he was in my office..he feigned laughter, but it was painfully obvious to me that deep down, it offended him...at the very least he didn't find it ANYWHERE near as amusing as me and the rest of my colleagues find it. I uncomfortably stopped the DVD after said 5 minutes, when it was obvious that we wouldn't be sharing in the level of yuk-age that it would have engendered with any normal human with a sense of humor. He didn't even find the "hackneyed blue green transfer look" funny. It's one of the many reasons why I hate being in the advertising business.

If you liked this you might like another short film called "The Deal" written by Lewis Black. Sadly, regrettably, etc. there is no video that I can find online. You can, however, find it on this short story collection, which coincidentally has a story called "Seven Gates" starring David Huband who played Bob Willikers in "Truth in Advertising". *plays "The Twighlight Zone" music
