There's no need for you to record short videos (youtube) of yourself singing impossibly cheesy songs about astological signs whilst a woman does interpretive dance in the background, because Harvey Sid Fisher has already done it for you.
Thanks to Ryan at FFFF for bringing this to my attention

Unfortunately, it looks like YouTube only hosts the first 45 seconds or so of the videos, but yeah, you can pretty much extrapolate the remainder.

"Harvey Sid Fisher writes screenplays, is an actor, and is one of L.A.'s top ten million photographic models."

Jesus, are there even ten million of us in L.A.?

Also: I am in love with humanity, it's just some people I cannot stand. (I yam an Aquarian, I yam an Aquarian...)

He's amazing live, and completely without guile.

I hear Carson Daly signed him to a contract.

Hey, I'm getting the hang of this:

"I was born a Capra, I was born a Capra, I was born a Capricorn."

"I'm a Saj...I'm a Saj..."

It's like Bob Dylan and Victor Borge and Tom Lehrer and Reveen and William Shatner, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. With a dancer.

Milkman Dan - yeah, the songs are pretty formulaic, aren't they? A friend of mine compared him to Wesley Willis for just that reason.

The Astrology Songs, while delightful, are old news. He has since added songs about golf, and duets of couples fighting to his repertoire. These latter are especially fun live.

who else was dissapointed that there wasnt any leotard-clad modern dancers during his live sets? or was i just unlucky?

If I ever got a video camera, what do you think I could do on YouTube? Since the astrological sign singing is obviously not possible now, as it's been done.

Well, I never said that you *couldn't* sing astrology songs; just that there was no need to since HSF has already done such a brilliant job of it. And really, do you honestly think that you could top his performance?

This just in the inbox from HSF, for those of you in LA:

If you are in the Culver City area I will be playing my songs at The BOULEVARD MUSIC STORE (4316 Sepulveda Blvd, 310- 398-2583) http://www.boulevardmusic.com/
Sunday, Aug 20, where the doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8pm which is a sign-up 2-3 song open mic kind of thing for the other acts but I have a booked time special guest status for a 20 minute set with some of my band and singers. I go on at 8:30pm. The gig is at Sepulveda and Culver Blvds. (Culver exit on the 405 fwy) I have not been there yet but I hear it's like the setup at McCabe's Guitar shop in Santa Monica. Door -$4.00 -all ages.

I don't know about you, Emily, but I have nothing better to do.

See ya,
Harvey Sid
