I have no idea how these people got their park wedged into their parking, or why.

Nice statement. The idea being to cause us to think about the space we give to the automobile.

Reminds me of that bit on the beast called the Rac (car spelled backwards). Anyway, the Rac story babbled on about all the sacrafices a tribe made for this awful beast that they worshiped called the Rac. The punch line being, you guessed it, the Rac was the car and we were the tribe.

"PARK(ing) provides unplanned human interaction"

Now we're talking. Add a nice lil pup tent and I'll be there with my pocketsful o nickels.

There's no good reason to drive a personal vehicle into the downtown of a major city. That said, if you spend two hours sitting in a parking spot, you're a self-righteous douchebag.

People who feel entitled to never walk more than 15 feet are not going to change their opinion because you read a book while sitting on a lawnchair in a parking spot. And people who would participate know this. This is, at its heart, what all protests are ultimately about: drawing attention to yourself in order to feel superior and maybe get laid.
