Hey Teen Activists! Want to protest the evil capitalist confab at the World Economic Forum in Davos, but you just don't have the time? Well, now you can! Thanks to revolutionary (no pun intended) Swiss technology, hellomrpresident.com will allow you to send messages that will then be projected via laser onto the side of a mountain overlooking Davos! Starts today at 1700, though it doesn't say whether that's UTC or local time. Five hours a day for five days. Let us know what you get projected! (They have a webcam up, so you may be able to grab a jpeg of your thought.)

Wow, a fantastic intregation of tecnology and social dynamics. Very cool. By the way, the time in Davos is listed in the upper right.

Agreed on its coolness. Now this is a form of protest I can wholeheartedly endorse. Hard to ignore, technically clever, and IMHO more likely to be taken seriously by politicos than a bunch of unkempt people waving placards.

This reminds me, sadly, of the Netscape Engineering sign. (No link, cuz, well, it's gone. Anyone remember the sign? Anyone remember Netscape?

I had screenshots of the engineering sign, but I can't find them. It was pre-metafilter though.

That sentence seems to missing some words...

But who says it can't be both the future of activisim and a really cool toy? If it's effective and fun then more people will use it.
