whoah, since when did they start syndicating stuff like this word for word?

I'm not at all a fan of hers, but I find it funny how the media (radio stations, music news, etc.) will latch onto this and spread it like wildfire. We can probably all agree it's no big deal, any one of us has had minor freakouts before some presentation or speech, but because she pimps herself as miss wholesome, her first imperfection makes headlines.

I would think that even for the gluttonous media beast, this would be a trifling snack, indeed.

Only thing that I'd find newsworthy about Ms. Spears would be if she happened to accidentally hit a proper note. If that ever happens, they should break out the "Doomsday" font.

i think its a little more than an adult entertainer swearing --- it may have been a mistake, but i'm sure she upset the people who buy her albums: the mothers and fathers of her prepubescent fans.

My own thought on this is that she's a human just like everyone else - she swears if she gets flipped out - fair enough. Considering the high pressure career she has, I think she's entitled to it.

i can't believe people FEEL BAD FOR BRITNEY! claws out, people! what if she cussed at you while she was serving you at mcdonald's? would you have the same amount of sympathy?

and matt, tons of people were at rock in rio taping away -- that's how i got to hear some of the new guns n' roses material that was played in the festival's earlier portion. (it, by the way, SMOKES. oh yessss.)

Britney Spears? Adult? I am 8 months out of high school. She's a year older than me.

Turrets syndrom is when you lose control of vocalization. People with turrets are often known to start shouting in public and not be able to stop, often times the words that come out are offensive or vulgar. I beleive there was an NBA player who had it, Muhammed Abdul Rauf. I remember him being on the Denver Nuggets. I read that he was able to control it and during games it was barely noticeable. He'd just grunt or yell at random times on the court.

Many words fall under "retarded" (which I think is kind of an offensive word). Autism is one, which is when a person becomes extremely detached from their surroundings. It could better be described as being in your own world. Sometimes deep in your own world. Another one of those words would be down syndrome, which not only affects the person mentally, but often physically. There are others, they all gather under the category of developmental disabilities.

Just clearin' things up. Now that's what I call topic drift.

I think Britney should learn to do what techsupport workers like me do all the time. If you're going to swear in front of a customer/microphone/audience, hit the mute button! It saved me more than once!

Just be sure it's your mute button. I know a guy who was leaning over to tell his co-worker that the customer he was talking to was an asshole, and he hit his co-worker's mute button instead of his own because, well, it was right in front of him and he wasn't paying attention.

Amazingly, he didn't get fired over that little incident, as the manager agreed with his assessment of the customer...
