I'd love to see the collection policy there. What are they allowed to read, the King James Version, or will they be flexible and allow for New Revised Standard Version, too?

From the first link: In managing the Detainee Library, the Chief Librarian is responsible for providing, maintaining and developing library services and operations using reading, recreational games and puzzles, music, or electronic media. I'm thinking, as far as recreational games and puzzles are concerned, that they've bought a bunch of these from ol' Milton-Bradley?

That is.. weird. It could be a challenging opportunity to positively affect the detainees quality of life in a small way. But that' probably too much to hope for. (wonder why my employer sees fit to block access to Hasboro)

I can't believe this is outsourced. It really does have possibility for lessening the horror, but it's also enabling and covering for it--it allows our govt. to hold this kind of thing up and say, "See, we even give them a full library for their enjoyment"
