I really love this, but there are so many good ones.

Oh, these are gorgeous. I love the pallette, and the general stripped-down Art Deco proto-Riefenstahl-ness.

I am just thrilled, believe me.

First the Soviet art from last week, now this? Jeeze, has MeFi turned into some sort of post-cold war art exhibit?

I jest. This is really neat.

But perhaps a biologist in the house can explain the abstract link in the FPP. I've been trying to parse it, but I'm coming up short.

Based on the shapes, I'm assuming it's something cellular, but I'll be honest, I haven't a clue.

It's from this page, quin, and there's an accompanying scheme just to the right. Looks like a diagram of the ways proteins, lipid, water and tri-glycerides can interact.

Phenomenal stuff. These remind me a bit of Ernst Haeckel's incredible Kunstformen der Natur (wikipedia).

Oops, Haeckel's made the blue before (and linked in a previous FPP by none other than mediareport): here, and here. Apologies for the redundancy.

Ugh, that would be here, and here.

Dutch botanical wall charts 1870-1960. Hit browse. Perhaps not 300dpi but there are a mass of them and they are quite large (hit 'Extra groot' for largest size).
