Must we discuss survivor here? Though most of the country seems interested in this drivel, some of us have better things to do. Please . . . lets not post a link every time someone gets kicked off.

I reckon I'm gonna get flamed for this, but really - television 'events' like this don't really make for compelling links.

I didn't watch it tonight so I don't know if Kimmi is grating or not, but I see that her bio mentions her love of Scrabble so she's ok in my book!

Naaah... American Beauty was on HBO last night. None of these girls look even a *little* like Mena Suvari. Damn I'm glad she's, like, 23, instead of the age she was playing, or I'd feel like a pervert.

I watched Survivor for the first time last nite. It was about goddam hideous. I was really hoping for a lot more politics and a lot less emotional team games.
Seriously, that was the dumbest show I've seen in a while.

it would be bad strategy [as debb discovered] to start openly targeting the others in the first three days on the island. they have to figure out each others' weaknesses before they can exploit them. also, they get a lot more evil as they get more hungry. just wait...

Well, I didn't notice the emotional part, but the challenges are one of the more interesting parts of Survivor to me. Maybe it's a repressed longing for more episodes of Double Dare. "We'll take the Physical Challenge!"

The politics are interesting, too, but you can't expect them so soon in the season. These people hardly know each other. It will get more interesting, especially after the tribes merge.

Debb was in my hotel this morning. I first heard her, on the phone with someone, passionately complaining that the premiere show displayed her in a terrible light, and that "everyone who knows [her]" thinks that she is warm, kind, and compassionate, "not manipulative and backstabbing at all!!" It was then that I put the face to the story, and realized who it was.

Later, when I was in the lobby, she was there with her stepson, explaining to him (very patiently, I might add) that it's only to him that there appears to be a problem with his stepson relationship; to everyone else around, they "just look like an ordinary couple who is very much in love."

I was a bit creeped out, and had to run from the lobby to prevent myself from vomiting.
